Satyam Saha

Founder

Satyam is a chartered accountant and auditor working across New Zealand's charity and not-for-profit sector. Before Kali Foundation, his work sat almost entirely in community roles — as a youth councillor advising Hastings District Council, a researcher with Massey University's SHORE & Whāriki Research Centre, a board member and mentor at the Eastern Institute of Technology, and part of the Tihei Mauri Ora Emergency Response Centre's Covid-19 response in Hawke's Bay.

In 2021, he received the Napier Pilot City Trust Unity Award for his contribution to community life in Napier. Kali Foundation brings together his accounting and governance background with that community-sector experience, to help charities, schools and trusts use AI in a way that's practical, responsible, and built around the people already doing the work.

People were carrying enormous responsibility for their communities with very little support behind them. Kali Foundation exists to take some of that weight off.

Dan

Accounting, finance & community engagement

Dan brings a background in accounting, finance and business — including running his own companies and years of high-trust client and consulting relationships — to his work at Kali Foundation. Building something of your own teaches you quickly that no one owes you their business, and no one owes you their belief that you can help. You earn both, or you get neither.

Alongside Satyam, Dan spends much of his time working directly with charities, businesses and community organisations across Aotearoa — out in the community, sitting down with people, and asking what a normal day actually looks like for them before a single word is said about AI. Most organisations don't need a pitch. They need someone to listen long enough to understand where the time is actually going.

He's driven by a straightforward belief: charities put others first every day, and Kali Foundation exists to make sure they're not left to figure out AI on their own while they do it.

Helping people is honestly the thing I care most about in any work I do — it's the one constant across everything I've done, long before AI was part of the conversation.

Mohammed Muzammil

Warm outreach & business development associate

Mohammed Muzammil — Robin to most people — is a Master of Professional Accounting student at the University of Auckland and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA, USA), with experience across accounting, finance and consulting. Curious and people-focused, he's interested in how business, technology and new ideas can be used to solve real-world challenges.

At Kali Foundation, Robin supports outreach and partnership initiatives, particularly across the not-for-profit and education sectors. He enjoys meeting people, building meaningful connections, and finding the places where technology can genuinely help organisations and the communities they serve.

What motivates me most is seeing an idea actually help someone and make a real difference.

Srikar Vuppala

Artificial intelligence & software engineer

Srikar is a Software Engineering student at the University of Auckland with a strong interest in artificial intelligence, technology, and building solutions that create meaningful impact. Curious by nature, he enjoys exploring new ideas, understanding how technology can solve real-world problems, and working with people to turn those ideas into something practical.

With experience in AI and software engineering, Srikar has developed a growing understanding of how emerging technologies can improve the way organisations work and create better experiences for the people they serve. He particularly enjoys learning through hands-on projects, hackathons, and collaborative environments where different perspectives come together.

At Kali Foundation, Srikar is focused on helping organisations understand and make use of what AI and technology can offer. He believes technology shouldn't be something people feel left behind by, but something that lets them do more — and being part of a team that helps charities and communities navigate that change is what makes this work matter to him.
